Introduction
4048 of employees have already applied for under the project concerned. 3172 of employees out of 4048 have been made retired by 02.02.2017. 642 of employees are to be made retired.

To maintain required cadre by voluntarily removing excess employees.

Obtaining Electronic Ticket Machines for SLTB buses.
Introduction
3700 of ticket machines were being used by SLTB at the commencement of 2015 and, 3800 of machines have been purchased to SLTB since 2015. A sum of Rs. 115.01 million had been obtained from Ministry of Transport to and payments have been made for the said 3800 of machines.

Modernization of 1000 buses
Introduction
900 buses with 42 to 46 seats and 100 low flow buses are to be purchased under this project. Documents to get Cabinet approval for the project concerned have already been prepared and submitted to the Ministry of Transport.

Purchase of 500 engine kits for SLTB
Introduction
Quotations were called for purchasing 500 engine sets under the project and, letters of credit have been submitted to purchase 326 of Leyland Engines. Approval has been given to purchase another 163 engines

Updating bus fleet to suit for operations.

Rehabilitation of bus fleet, institutional development and maintenance of buildings
Introduction
Rs. 1084.49 of Treasury Provisions has been received for the project and, 419 of engines, 195 of gear boxes and 211 of bus bodies have been produced by the provisions concerned. And also, money has been expanded for minor repairs.
