Number of SLTB Night Bus Services Commencing from Colombo City at 10.00 p.m.

On the directives of Hon. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, the Minister of Internal Transport, SLTB has commenced night bus services deploying 29 buses effective from 03.03.2015. These bus services will continue daily for the convenience of the passengers.

The night bus services which will be operated within the Western Province will commence at 10.00 p.m. daily from the Central Bus Station, Pettah and will reach the following destinations (towns) accordingly:

I.D.H., Awissawella, Ingiriya, Kesbewa, Maharagama, Maththegoda, Mattakkuliya, Hanwella, Moratuwa, Mount Lavinia, Kaduwela, Meegoda, Nugegoda, Aluthgama, Mathugama, Horana, Panadura, Nittambuwa, Delgoda, Kadawatha, Negombo, Kirindiwela 224,Kirindiwela 231, Gampaha, Dekatana, Ragama, Ja-Ela, Raddolugama, Diwulapitiya.

SLTB Buses for visiting Atamasthana.

Upon the decision of Maha Sanga (Buddhist clergy) Hon. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Minister of Internal Transport has directed the authorities to commence a new bus service for the convenience of the devotees pilgrimaging Atamasthana. Accordingly, a devotee will be privileged to worship all 08 sacred places in Anuradhapura under a single bus ticket within the day of purchasing it.

New SLTB Buses for Passenger Transportation

Under the patronage of Hon. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Minister of Internal Transport, recently 45 buses to 05 SLTB depots in Badulla area and 42 buses to Colombo region were distributed. The ceremonies were held at Badulla Bus Stand and Udahamulla depot premises with the presence of Ministers and Members of Parliament, political representatives, and officials of the SLTB.

Distributing Multimedia Projectors and granting compensation to the victims of Hit and Run accidents

A ceremony for handing over of multimedia projectors to 09 Police stations across the Island to educate pedestrians and drivers and granting compensation amounting to Rs.8 Lakhs to the victims of Hit and Run accidents by the National Council for Road Safety was held at the premises of Ministry of Internal Transport on 23.04.2015 under the patronage of Hon. Ranjith Madduma Bandara, Minister of Internal Transport.

Mr.Aruna.K.Ranasinghe (Attorney-at-Law),the Chairman of the National Council for Road Safety Mr. Chathura Umagiliya, the Secretary to the Council and Mr.B.D.L.Dharmapriya, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Internal Transport were present at the occasion.

New Driver Testing Track to Werahera

Hon. RanjithMaddumaBandara, Minister of Internal Transport laid the foundation stone for construction of the first driver testing track within the premises of the Department of Motor Traffic in Werehera on 30.04.2015. The track will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 100 Mill.

Construction of this track which complies the international standards,will follow construction of similar tracks in all districts of the Island.

Commissioner General of Motor Traffic, Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Internal Transport, Chairman of the National Council for Road Safety, and many other officials were present at the occasion.
